Although this is the last and final version of the S63 before transitioning to the S68, the fact remains that this engine incorporates the latest developments allowing exceptional performance combined with controlled consumption. This is the Bavarian know-how that makes M vehicles exceptional, offering real driving pleasure.

Xdrive as standard.

Although we might reproach the ever-increasing weight over the generations, we still appreciate that the Xdrive system is fitted as standard on the entire range and that it can, on request, send the torque to the rear wheels only.

Errors excepted, today it is the only manufacturer that offers this type of parameter, proof of its faith in the values of driving pleasure.

WOT BMW M5

Engineer’s notes.

From 600 to 635 hp with 750 Nm.

This third generation S63 engine (labelled T4), is a compendium of the best in technology currently found in a V8 engine.

Available electronically in 600 and 625 hp, it is also offered in a 635 hp version in the recent M5 CS producing, for each of them, a torque of 750 Nm transmitted, on demand, to the four wheels via the Xdrive system. It is this evolution towards the Xdrive across the range that has allowed BMW to gain a new market share in a segment where Mercedes and Audi had already been offering an all-wheel drive system, synonymous with performance but above all with safety, for many years.

Up to 900 hp.

While the S63B44T4 shares many engine components with the N63B44T3, some, such as the pistons, are designed differently so as to respond more durably to fuel pressure.

In this way, without the need for engine component reinforcement, this engine is designed to handle power up to 900 hp.

The development process

We select the vehicle which combines the most significant criteria contributing to pollution, in particular: consumption, weight, air resistance (drag coefficient) and type of transmission. For this S63TU4 engine, we opted for the BMW M5 4.4 (M) model. If the vehicle successfully passes the numerous pollution tests, the official verification body can logically conclude that the other, less polluting models in the range will also obtain positive results. This is why, within WOT, such importance is given to the engine code.

What about the warranty?

At WOT, we invest heavily in research and development to provide you with an experience where performance and reliability go hand in hand. However, it is possible that during a routine inspection, the manufacturer has detected that your vehicle has undergone modifications. Even if the improvements made by WOT are homologated, this detection can lead to the loss of the factory warranty.

For this reason we have created an additional motor warranty, specifically designed to meet your highest demands.
